Position

The Retail Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire back-of-house operations of the Pacific Place store, with a primary focus on expert inventory management, ensuring stock integrity, and leading the stockroom team. This role is pivotal in maintaining optimal stock levels, facilitating efficient product flow, and empowering the operations team to effectively support the sales floor and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Job responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and motivate the storeroom team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and productivity.
    • Delegate tasks effectively and manage the daily workflow of the back-of-house operations team.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.
    • Assist in the onboarding of new storeroom team members.
  • Inventory Management & Control:
    • Oversee all aspects of inventory control, including accurate receiving, unpacking, ticketing, and organizing merchandise according to company standards.
    • Direct and conduct regular stock counts and ensure timely reconciliation of all discrepancies to maintain precise inventory records.
    • Manage and supervise inter-store transfers, and damaged goods processes, ensuring proper documentation and execution.
    • Strategically monitor stock levels to proactively prevent overstocking or stock-outs, communicating effectively with management and relevant departments.
  • Back-of-House Operations Excellence:
    • Lead the team in maintaining a pristine, highly organized, and safe back-of-house area, including all stock rooms, receiving zones, and staff facilities.
    • Optimize the flow of goods from delivery to the sales floor, ensuring timely and efficient replenishment processes are in place and followed by the team.
    • Ensure the team's strict compliance with all health, safety, and security procedures within the back-of-house environment.
    • Manage operational supply levels, including uniform and packaging, and oversee the ordering process to ensure continuous availability.
  • Operational Support & Collaboration:
    • Oversee and participate in store opening and closing procedures as required.
    • Support the execution of special events from an operational standpoint, ensuring the back-of-house is prepared.
    • Collaborate closely with the Store Manager and Regional Retail Operation team to ensure operational efficiency directly contributes to achieving sales goals.
    • Address minor facility issues or coordinate with relevant departments for Repair & Maintenance and After Sales Service.
  • Reporting & Communication:
    • Generate, analyze, and present comprehensive inventory and finance reports to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Prepare and organize monthly roster and annual leave plan
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for inventory and back-of-house related communications

Profile

 

    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in retail operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role within a back-of-house or inventory management function.
    • Experience luxury retail is preferred.
    • Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong commitment to accuracy.
    • Advanced proficiency in using inventory management software and POS systems; experience with SAP is a significant advantage.
    • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-pressure retail environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey instructions, provide feedback, and report on complex data.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, adaptable approach to operational challenges.
    • Fluent in Cantonese and English
