Position

The Indirect Procurement Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic indirect procurement activities in Korea. The role is accountable for optimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), ensuring full compliance with internal controls, local regulations, and ethical standards, strengthening stakeholder and supplier partnerships, and leading critical procurement initiatives that support business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management:

  • Develop and execute indirect procurement strategies for Korea in alignment with global objectives to optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Identify and deliver meaningful cost-saving opportunities across all indirect spend categories through market analysis, strategic negotiation, and demand management.
  • Lead the end-to-end tender process, including requirements definition, proposal evaluation, cost analysis, and supplier recommendations.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts to secure optimal commercial terms, pricing structures, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

 

Policy, Process & Compliance:

  • Establish and enforce indirect procurement policies and guidelines for the Korean market, ensuring compliance with internal controls, local regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Deliver structured training on indirect procurement policies, processes, and core fundamentals to internal stakeholders and end-users.
  • Drive continuous improvement of purchasing processes by leveraging technology and global best practices to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure vendor relationships, contracts, and bidding processes are fully documented and compliant with governance standards, in close collaboration with Legal and Internal Control.

 

Stakeholder & Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key internal stakeholders (e.g., Events, Visual Merchandising, Retail Operations, IT) to understand business needs and ensure procurement support is aligned.
  • Influence end-users by clearly communicating procurement value, benefits, and business impact.
  • Implement and manage a supplier performance evaluation program to improve quality, delivery reliability, and service levels.
  • Develop and apply a vendor assessment tool to identify and mitigate supplier risks (e.g., financial, operational, reputational, ethical) prior to onboarding.

 

Project Management & Performance Monitoring:

  • Lead and coordinate P2P (Procure-to-Pay) implementation initiatives to ensure effective local adoption and operational integration.
  • Manage strategic sourcing projects such as real estate procurement, from sourcing through to contract execution.

Profile

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive procurement experience is required.
  • Extensive and dedicated indirect procurement experience is mandatory.
  • Proven hands-on experience managing end-to-end procurement operations.
  • Experience in luxury, consumer goods, or related retail industries is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in P2P system implementation and/or launch is preferred.
  • Experience supporting reporting requirements for global headquarters and/or regional offices is preferred.
  • Proven ability to work independently, taking initiative and ownership of procurement activities from end-to-end

Skill:

  • Strong ability to align diverse stakeholder perspectives, build consensus, and drive timely decision-making.
  • Demonstrated capability to provide strategic guidance and mentorship to ensure disciplined execution and strong governance.
  • Proven project management skills, including progress tracking, risk anticipation, and timely issue resolution.
  • High agility and adaptability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines.
  • Strong business communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in P2P (Procure-to-Pay) tools and systems.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher is required.
  • Relevant professional certifications are preferred.
