Position

Louis Vuitton Americas is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Counsel, Real Estate & Construction to join our dynamic legal team. This pivotal role will primarily focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a comprehensive range of construction documentation, commercial agreements, and real estate lease-related documents, supporting the strategic expansion and maintenance of our luxury retail presence across the Americas.

The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in transactional real estate law, with a strong preference for prior in-house experience, and a proven ability to manage complex legal matters with exceptional attention to detail.

Job responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Primary responsibility for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction documentation, including contractor, architect, consulting, and services agreements, including AIA documents.
  • Primary responsibility for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating facilities service agreements and other commercial agreements.
  • Primary responsibility for reviewing and negotiating SNDAs and estoppel certificates.
  • Primary responsibility for maintaining and reviewing insurance claims (with support from paralegal)
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating office leases, licenses and location agreements for pop ups and events.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating retail lease–related documents, including subleases, assignments, amendments, renewals, surrender, release agreements, access agreements, and termination agreements.

Profile

The ideal candidate will possess 4+ years of transactional real estate legal experience in a law firm or combination of law firm and in-house corporate setting. Prior in-house experience will be given priority consideration.

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admitted to practice law in New York State and in good standing with the New York State bar.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of projects and deadlines independently.
  • Excellent business judgment, high-quality attention to detail and keen ability to identify and anticipate issues. Ability to analyze and draft real estate legal issues with and without AI assistance.
  • Knowledge and ability to remain abreast of current developments in commercial real estate law.
  • General knowledge and understanding of insurance, indemnification, and risk management.
  • Proactive and resourceful approach to recognizing needs and solving problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relations skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, as necessary.

The appointed candidate will be offered a base salary within the range of USD $130,000- $155,000 a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks and two retirement plans both with employer contributions.

The position requires 4 days per week on site in the Louis Vuitton Corporate Office, located in the heart of Midtown, Manhattan.
