Indirect Tax Specialist – South Asia

Position

This role has dual responsibilities supporting Finance Projects (50%) and Trade Compliance (50%). The incumbent will primarily support finance-led initiatives such as finance process improvements and system enhancements (including SAP-related enhancements from a finance perspective), GST filing compliance and will also coordinate cosmetics product registration across 9 countries in the APAC region.

The role requires a highly organized individual who can manage multiple timelines, maintain accurate trackers and documentation, and work effectively with cross-functional and regional stakeholders.

Job responsibilities

Finance Projects / Process & Systems Enhancements

• Support the Finance Projects Manager on finance transformation and improvement initiatives, including finance system enhancements and SAP enhancements (finance perspective).
• Assist with requirements gathering and documentation (process flows, user requirements, control points), coordination of testing/UAT, issue tracking, and stakeholder communications.
• Support process standardization and documentation for finance workflows impacted by system changes.
• Provide project coordination support (project plans, timelines, meeting minutes, action logs, status reporting) to ensure delivery against milestones.
• Support change management activities such as preparing user communications, training materials, and SOP updates (as required).

Trade Compliance / Product Registration Coordination

• Oversee cosmetics product registrations, renewals, regulatory documentation, requirements and regulatory processes
• This role will be required to do the cosmetics registration for Singapore, Malaysia and Australia, with possible additions to manage registrations for other countries in the APAC region, such as Thailand and Vietnam.
• Track and monitor regulatory submissions for all countries in scope, working closely with in-country teams and external consultants.
• May be asked to support on other trade compliance matters such as import licensing (products other than cosmetics), customs classification, management of audits/investigations, etc.

Note: Prior cosmetics registration experience is not required; training will be provided.

Profile

• Degree holder with preference for accounting / finance background.
• Working experience in finance operations, finance projects, project coordination or similar roles.
• Exposure to finance systems and/or SAP in a business user capacity would be an added plus.
• Experience supporting compliance activities (GST/indirect tax, audit support, documentation control).
• Strong project coordination skills: planning, tracking, follow-up, and stakeholder management.
• Able to manage multiple workstreams with different timelines across functions and countries.
• Strong proficiency in Excel (trackers, reconciliations, status reporting).
• Strong communication skills (written and spoken English).
