Today the Middle East Africa region is a strong pull of future growth to contribute to Moet Hennessy 2030 vision. And as part of this mission, The Market Manager is a critical role for driving market growth and brand presence across a portfolio of countries within the Middle East Africa Region.
The mission is to identify, develop, and capitalize on new commercial opportunities, ensuring our strategic objectives are met through effective planning, robust commercial execution, and strong partner relationships.

Job responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  • Market Analysis & Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for each market based on a deep understanding of market dynamics, competitive activity, Route to consumer, and emerging trends.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize sales data, market benchmarking, and consumer insights to identify business opportunities and inform strategic decisions.

Business Development

  • Clarity over market potential: Build rolling 3-year vision
  • Route to Market: Ensure most effective route to market consistent with local needs and aligned with Maison.
  • In-market distributor management; Establish clear roadmap of weekly, monthly and quarterly check-points and reporting to ensure MH agenda is being implemented and tracked.

Commercial Drive

  • Sales Planning & Execution: Develop tailored sales plans for distributors and individual strategic accounts, aligning with overall sales objectives to achieve targets and maximize revenue.
  • Pricing & Promotions: Analyse and recommend pricing strategies to maximize profitability and revenue across all channels.
  • Sales Performance & Reporting: Master the analysis and interpretation of sales data and monitor performance using self-developed market scorecards against targets and key metrics.

Operations & Legal

  • Supply Chain & Logistics: Timely submission of orders to Hennessy and MHCS in line with shipment plan.
  • Contract Management: Manage distributor contracts, set or oversee clear trade terms, and ensure compliance for long-term collaboration.
  • Control DSO: Ensuring payment on-time and flagging potential credit risks.
  • Compliance: track for TNT and counterfeit product in market and report to Regional Brand Protection officer

Trade Marketing and Distribution

  • Presence: Understand local consumers and distributor account relations based on trade visits to ensure awareness, close monitoring, and maintenance of relationships.
  • Channel Segmentation: Together with the distributor update and maintain a clear census of Channel and segment numbers in a market to support product distribution and assortment.

Marketing

  • Brand Strategy: develop annual brand plan in collaboration with the in-market distributor team, the Regional Marketing Team and Maison’s as appropriate.
  • Brand Advocacy & Story-telling: Act as an ambassador for Moët Hennessy, representing the brands with passion to trade, influencers, and consumers.

People & Stakeholder Management

  • Distributor Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with distributors, wholesalers, and strategic Key Accounts in both the On and Off Trade to ensure product availability and the successful execution of promotions.
  • Internal Relationships: Proactively communicate market, channel and account progress, challenges, and insights to internal stakeholders, and participate in cross-functional project teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Profile

Languages: English or French

Professional experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, international relations, or related field; master’s degree is preferred.
  • 7-10 years’ experience international sales role; previous experience as a Commercial Manager.
  • Experience across channels, global, regional with industry and wholesalers experience at premium level. National off trade is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of customers, markets dynamics including routes to market in Middle East Africa.

Personal & people skills:

  • Exceptional negotiation skills aimed at securing beneficial partnerships and deals internationally.
  • Excellent presentation to represent the portfolio and act as a spokesperson within trade, officials, and key influencers.
  • Able to travel extensively (more than 50%).
