We're thrilled to announce the opening for a Wholesale Manager in Malaysia, reporting to the Head of Sales. The Wholesale Manager is critical in driving MHDM’s business growth by strategically managing and enabling wholesaler partnerships across Malaysia. As the key link in the 3-tier distribution model, this role ensures consistent execution of pricing, distribution, and promotional strategies while optimizing coverage in key and emerging markets. By aligning cross-functional efforts, designing impactful incentives, and leveraging data insights, the Wholesaler Manager directly fuels sell-in performance and secures long-term commercial success in both established and developing trade territories.

Job responsibilities
How you will contribute…
To drive effective sell-in performance by strategically aligning, enabling, and managing MHDM’s wholesaler partnerships across Malaysia, ensuring consistent distribution of luxury wine & spirits. This is achieved through data-driven insights, incentive program design, and cross-functional coordination with commercial teams and customer marketing.
1) Strategic Wholesaler Management & Sell-In Enablement:
- Serve as the direct link to wholesalers, aligning distribution targets, pricing, and promotions across Malaysia (North, South, Central, East).
- Plan and manage distribution targets, pricing, and stock allocations.
- Build & execute Key Trade Agreements for wholesalers––setting expectations, review cadence, performance KPIs.
2) Execution & Growth in 3-Tier Model:
- Ensure wholesalers deliver on agreed call frequency, inventory levels, and POS standards.
- Support and execute aligned trade programs & incentives to support the sales team’s sell-through velocity in the market.
- Expand tactical footprint, especially within 2nd tier cities and Chinese independent retail nationwide.
- Co-create incentive programs, channel-specific pricing, and promotional support––critical in penetrating and covering key trade market areas and smaller key cities across Malaysia.
3) Performance & Analytics:
- Collect depletions, sell-through rates, inventory data, competitor intel, and activations - backing decisions with evidence via winchannel and Qliksense while supported by Sales Planning.
- Analyze performance metrics—depletions, distribution coverage, ROI—and act on insights.
- Monitor competitor activity, compliance, and market conditions.
4) Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance:
- Coordinate with brand marketing (for brand health), customer marketing (for activation design), and commercial sales (sell-through), ensuring holistic support for wholesalers to trade.
- Collaborate across brand/customer/commercial teams to integrate marketing and channel initiatives.
- Maintain regulatory and operational compliance.
Profile

- 5+ years of sales experience with a background in the FMCG industry and distribution knowledge.
- Strong background in Key Account Management, negotiation, and analytical reporting.
- Experience with multi-territory channel strategy.
- Excellent communication skills; proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin advantageous).
- Ability to travel and build relationships across Malaysia.
