Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Revenue Accountant is responsible for the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of transactional capture and reporting associated with Sales and Inventory Transactions, and cost of sales transactions for Moët Hennessy Australia (MHA).

MHA Revenue Accountant is responsible for partnering and developing a strong relationship within the BPC team, logistics team and with the Sales team in functional areas of Sales, rebate accruals and inventory.

This is a 12- Month contract role.

Job responsibilities

How you will contribute…

Conditional Rebate and FTT – capture, process of settlement, reporting and reconciliation

  • Become the Finance Department’s “Functional Expert” for all components included in Rebate Accounting
    • Management of the VISTEX system
    • Month end close of VISTEX for both Rebate and FTT
    • Rebate accrual based on customer contracts
    • Computation of rebate entitlements
    • Perform thorough due diligence checks for all rebate and FTT payment requests
    • Process of rebate settlements for NKA accounts both AU and NZ
    • Individual rebate / FTT tracking
    • Balance Reconciliation and agreement review with Sales and BPC team
    • Provide relevant rebate data to BPC and Sales for commercial reviews
    • Work closely with the BPC team on customer agreement management

Collaborative Partnering and Management

  • Provide support in the NSI, Inventory/COGS, Cost of Selling (distribution costs and duties/excise) functional areas.
  • Develop and maintain strong, effective working relationships with BPC and Sales in relation to FTT commitments, wholesaler real deals and p/l reporting for MHA
  • Utilise claim data to gain deep knowledge of customer rebate and pricing particularly for NKA and wholesale customers to excise strong influence on accrual strategy and become a strategic partner with BPC and Sales
  • Foster development within team members and build a positive culture.

Systems & Process Management

  • Ongoing responsibility for systems utilisation (VISTEX) and process management for areas of functional responsibility.

Ad Hoc Projects and Additional Tasks

  • Review, streamline and document procedures on an on-going basis.
  • Undertake any other tasks that are assigned by Management that are consistent with position duties in a positive manner.

Professional experience

  • At least 3 years relevant working experience in fast moving consumer goods industry, manufacturing, distribution or retail environment (or work within an accounting firm with a client base in these industry areas). Experience in costing in a manufacturing environment a benefit.
  • SAP literate (FI); Advance MS Excel skill; able to establish solid relationships with the business at large.
  • Self-starter, autonomous, logical, systematic and positive thinker; honest, hardworking and able to plan and prioritize effectively
  • Able to work under pressure with minimum supervision and to adhere strictly to deadlines; strong ethics/integrity; eager to learn.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance & accounting and preferably CPA/CA qualified
  • English native or bilingual.
