Overview of the position

Develop and implement all elements of the marketing mix to achieve budgeted volumes, revenues, market share and profitability for the Hennessy brand while respecting and enhancing the brand image and reputation both internally and externally.

Develop sustainable assets to build brand momentum, reach and desirability.

This is a 12-month maternity cover role.

Job responsibilities

How you will contribute…

Brand Plan Implementation

  • Preparation of all aspects of the relevant Brand Plans, for approval by the Marketing Manager
  • Deliver market leading promotional activities and provide efficient, timely and accurate marketing leadership for the relevant brands for approval by the MM
  • Achieve brand image objectives and maximize consumer value perception using key performance measurement tools (BHT etc.)
  • Together with Customer Marketing, lead development of trade activation & cycle communication to drive key quality groups, manage inputs to the sales and marketing communication cycle
  • In association with Trade Marketing, monthly review on trade activation effectiveness in all channels. Assess effectiveness to KPI’s and develop post cycle recommendations for future activity
  • Lead and Manage promo pack & POSM in respect to Maison order deadlines & in market shipment dates. Assess, monitor and track budget impact in the A&P. 
  • New Product launch pack development and provision of these to the sales and CSC teams with all product information (including price, availability, images) in line with cycle deadlines
  • Build price for new products, considering all channel volume allocations discussed with sales, Terms with Finance team and manage price to existing portfolio.
  • Partner with the Maison team to drive the innovation agenda and product development for the Australian market
  • Build and execute launch plans for new products

Communication

  • Communicate with and motivate the MHA team effectively in order to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of brand plan requirements
  • Correspond and interact with Brand Owners as agreed with the Marketing Manager
  • Execute programs that demonstrate & amplify the Brand DNA as required by the Brand Plans
  • Brief and manage external parties, including Media, Digital, Event and PR agencies
  • Act as face of the brand and communicate brand credentials as required

Financial

  • Deliver/exceed brand financial objectives (revenues and contribution) and channel objectives
  • Management and ownership of A&P investments, ensuring that committed expense remains within agreed and approved parameters. Provide Marketing Manager with recommendations to optimize A&P, accelerate portfolio performance and mitigate financial risks
  • Lead management of Project Budgets for all A&P Activity >$5K AUD investment, ensuring 10% contingency allowance on budget estimates and obtain GOA approval on all budgets prior to PO placement.
  • Secure to share in advance with our partners the PO number to be include in the invoice
  • Prepare portfolio pricing strategy recommendations
  • Review sales forecasting and interact with the supply chain team to assist where remedial actions may be required to resolve supply issues
  • Manage and monitor POS, promo packs, limited edition & clearance lines ensuring correct classification of stock and trade activation plan to exhaust stock on hand

Business Assessment

  • Prepare the monthly report of the brand that includes depletions per channel and quality group, competitor analysis, scan data if available and updated key topics to discuss with the Mason BDM
  • Set the monthly WIP meetings with the Maison and agree the agenda with the MM
  • Regular analysis and review of brand performance (including trade time), ensuring clear understanding opportunities, threats & competitor strategies
  • Prepare reports and reviews for regional and Maison business review meetings

Education

  • Marketing Degree or Business Degree with Marketing electives

Languages

  • Fluency in English is required
  • Knowledge of other Asian languages is an advantage

Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years marketing experience, including successful track record in above-the line/ below-the-line execution
  • Understanding of luxury goods market, ideally with experience in the
  • Wine/Spirit market understanding is preferable
  • Exposure to the sales environment
