The Sr. Director, Strategy & Business Planning is responsible for defining and driving the Hennessy business roadmap.

Partnering closely with the SVP of Hennessy, this role leads the development of end-to-end business strategies and action plans including forecasting, planning, pricing strategy and identification of growth opportunities across underrepresented business segments through rigorous data and KPI analysis. 

The Sr. Director, Strategy & Business Planning serves as a key enabler across the Hennessy team, connecting teams as one business unit and supporting the delivery of overall brand and financial objectives.

Office/Location: Hybrid 3x a week based out of NYC Office

Job responsibilities

Oversee the Business Plan

  • Lead in partnership with Commercial Enablement a data-driven commercial plan – including market prioritization, portfolio mix, pricing, channel & distribution strategy
  • Develop and oversee the optimal pricing strategy in close collaboration with the Maison and US Revenue Growth Management Teams
  • Lead the forecasting process in partnership with the Forecasting Team and serve as the primary liaison with FP&A for all financial reporting cycles (Budget, Le1, Le2, R&O, Landing)
  • Develop go-to market strategies for product innovations and limited edition launches including distribution, market prioritization and channel activation

Ensure Clear Business Performance Management

  • Establish, monitor and report on overarching Business and Brand KPIs  (Brand KPis established with Brand Marketing and Business KPIs with Commercial Enablement)
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of business performance to develop fact-based recommendations and action plans to drive depletions growth and profitability.
  • Identify business opportunities within growth markets and underpenetrated consumer segments using insights from Business Intelligence, Commercial & Brand teams      

Assess Marketing Effectiveness of key Marketing Programs

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of ATL and BTL marketing programs against business and brand objectives by setting clear KPIs and measuring progress towards goals
  • Provide strategic recommendations on the A&P Strategic Map to the SVP of Hennessy to optimize investment allocation and maximize ROI (market prioritization, on vs. off premise, ATL vs. BTL etc.)

 

Pilot strategic initiatives that drive Revenue Growth

  • Define annual strategic priorities and track progress through the year
  • Lead and project-manage selected strategic projects working cross-functionally with Marketing, Maison, Commercial, Finance, and other key stakeholders

Build Strong Organization Influence

  • Act as the primary point of contact and foster strong collaboration with the Maison Commercial team, Commercial Enablement, Market Leads, Finance and Business Intelligence Teams
  • Lead with a hands-on, “roll-up the sleeves” mindset, conducting regular market visits to support the execution of brand strategies and commercial plans.

 

Profile

Education:

Bachelor’s Degrees, or MBA Degree and/or years of equivalent experience.

Professional Experience & Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in business analysis, finance, business intelligence, or business planning, with strong exposure to brand marketing
  • Experience in a luxury, premium, or highly branded environment preferred

Practical/Technical Knowledge

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with the ability to translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations for Regions and Maison teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate a clear strategic point of view
  • Proven project management and organizational capabilities; able to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable working with large datasets and internal systems (e.g., Anaplan, Nielsen, Power BI)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated strengths in strategic thinking, business insights, planning and alignment, and balancing multiple stakeholders
