Since 2021, Armand de Brignac has been a Joint Venture between Jay-Z and Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) and has been one of the most prestigious marques in its category, with ambitious plans for acceleration and growth.  

Armand De Brignac Financial Controller is responsible for ensuring the fair and accurate valuation of company’s assets and liabilities on behalf of the Joint Venture, in full compliance with GAAP / IFRS requirements and LVMH / MH rules and processes.

This role will oversee and execute all aspects of accounting and general ledger maintenance. Responsibilities include developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure:

  • A robust control environment
  • Accurate financial information, readily understood by leadership and shareholders
  • Effective control and monitoring of company assets and resources
  • Enhanced efficiency through the review, improvement, and automation of systems and processes

FSCP / General Ledger Maintenance

  • Manage General Accounting, A/P, A/R, Inventory and Treasury
  • Plan and manage month, quarter, and year end closing activities
  • Communicate ledger entries and accruals to MHUSA back office
  • Act as the key contact for requests originating outside of the AdB finance department
  • Review and validate accuracy of monthly financial statements provided by MHUSA back office

Financial Reporting

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial statements to the Joint Venture Board, MH and LVMH
  • Reconcile financial statements between SAP and MH / LVMH reporting tools
  • Collaborate with FP&A to ensure consistency between P&L and B/S during forecast cycles
  • Collaborate with FP&A to build Overheads budget and monitor / analyze actual monthly spend
  • Oversee the preparation of financial analysis and presentations to a wide spectrum of audiences
  • Initiate and / or support change initiatives aiming at simplifying the planning & reporting process, improving agility while staying efficient

Treasury Management

  • Build cash forecast, analyze and explain cash flow evolutions
  • Approve payment requests created by MHUSA back office
  • Report monthly actual cash flows and cash positions
  • Be the main point of contact for relationships with banks (including control of bank covenants)
  • Maintain e-banking system

 

Inventory Control

  • Monthly inventory reconciliation of finished goods and dry goods with production entity
  • Execute regular physical inventory counts
  • Timely resolution of inventory reconciling items
  • Estimate and recommend provision, write-off and destruction of obsolete inventory
  • Communicate material, bill of materials and pricing master data to MHUSA back office
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions to internal and external warehouse systems

 

Job responsibilities

Internal Control

  • Business owner of the financial processes
  • Implement and / or support implementation of recommendations from internal & external audits
  • Develop processes and maintain documentation to enhance efficiencies and reduce risks
  • Run an annual Internal Control Self-Assessment according to LVMH guidelines

Audit

  • Primary contact for external and internal auditors
  • Coordinate and manage external audits ensuring all information requested is provided in a timely and accurate manner
  • Coordinate and manage LVMH internal audits ensuring all information requested is provided in a timely and accurate manner

Other

  • Take on special projects or ad hoc analyses as directed by Manager

Profile

Education

Bachelors Degree and/or Masters Degree; CPA 

Professional Experience

Minimum 12 years’ experience in accounting roles of which 2-3 years in a similar role

Practical/Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong finance and information systems intelligence
  • Good leadership skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and knowledge of internal control and processes
  • Expertise in SAP, Excel and Powerpoint

Compensation: salary plus discretionary bonus

Schedule: Full Time. Monday – Friday. Hybrid Workplace. Some travel may be expected. Availability and flexibility to adjust to schedule changes in the context of a global organization operating in multiple time zones (domestic and international), as well as related to business needs.
