The Business Planning and Control Manager, Hong Kong & Macau, is a strategic finance business partner driving profitable growth and disciplined investment across both markets. The role leads planning cycles and converts performance insights into actions through rigorous variance analysis. Partnering with key stakeholders, he or she strengthens financial governance and controls, optimizes financial structure, and enables strategic decision-making and priority initiatives.

Job responsibilities

  • Act as key business and internal control partner of Hong Kong, and Macau business units
  • Manage, control and report performance results, analyze variance weekly and monthly against plans
  • Be responsible for financial planning and reporting of locally-managed budgets, liaising with:
    • Hong Kong and Macau department heads and key stakeholders to optimize sales/spending and align on strategies
    • Greater China Accounting partners to facilitate and optimize closing, and Controlling partners to provide business insights and variance analysis
  • Be responsible for the investment plans on store network, recommend negotiation options, coordinate with legal team on lease agreement matters
  • Be responsible for ensuring that internal control and compliance practices are in place and compliant
  • Be responsible for potential market buyback
  • Ad hoc projects

Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant disciplines with professional qualifications
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within the retail sector. Experience with market buyback is a strong asset.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, flexible and takes strong ownership
  • Detail-oriented and excellent analytical and organization skills, strong in project management.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate risks, simplify issues and present in clear and concise recommendations
  • Independent with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with other departments
  • Must be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, knowledge of Power BI a bonus.
