Position
As a Demand & Supply Planner, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of all flows related to the assigned brand, from purchase and distribution to returns and product lifecycle. You are the interface between Logistics teams, Brand team and Planning Team in Singapore or in Headquarters.
The key focus is on maintaining optimized inventory levels in the warehouse by closely aligning supply plans with sales demand, inventory policies, capacity constraints, and other supply-side factors. The position also entails managing the distribution of products to all associated counters, ensuring the right inventory is deployed across the distribution network. Forecasting is another critical aspect of this role, which requires close collaboration with the Brand team. Additionally, the individual in this position is expected to spearhead continuous improvement projects to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness in the brand's operations.
Job responsibilities
Your Mission (Main Responsibilities)
- Replenishment Management
- Define import quantities and adjust transportation modes considering inventory status, product lifecycle, and demand.
- Optimize delivery frequency and stock targets per SKU at each point of sale, in order to achieve high presence rate, limiting stock coverage and lowering obsolescence.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of products, from monitoring the arrival and launch of new items to managing regular orders and updating logistics for established products, while also tracking their availability in stores to address any supply issues promptly.
- Efficiently manage the phase-out process for products reaching the end of their lifecycle to minimize costs associated with unsold inventory.
- Analysis and Strategic Oversight
- Offer critical insights into performance metrics, including service levels, inventory health, and their financial implications on the profit and loss statement.
- Develop and implement recommendations by collaborating with assigned Brand team and internal teams to enhance business outcomes.
- Forecasting Excellence and Process Innovation:
- Provide expert input to refine forecasting process in partnership with assigned Brand
- Operational Excellence
- Lead comprehensive reviews with top management regularly to assess operational performance.
- Ensuring that ERP/POS systems accurately reflect master data by SKU based on forecasts, challenge catalogue, discontinuation plan, supply, lifecycle and stock, to maintain efficient working environment.
Profile
Your Competencies and Experience (Skillset Requirements)
- Demand Planning and Forecasting: Ability to forecast future product demand based on historical data, market trends, and sales forecasts. Expertise in setting up initial stock levels for new products and managing end-of-life phase-out for obsolete items.
- Inventory Management: Proficiency in defining optimal inventory levels to minimize stockouts while avoiding excess stock that could lead to obsolescence.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Knowledge of coordinating with suppliers to manage lead times and ensure timely replenishment of inventory. Skill in evaluating and selecting appropriate transportation modes based on cost, timing, and inventory needs.
- Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data from various sources (ERP/POS systems) and translate it into actionable insights. Ability to provide visibility into service levels, inventory turnover rates, and their financial impacts.
- Strategic Mindset: Strategic mindset with the ability to make recommendations that align with business objectives and improve overall metrics. Experience in developing strategies for efficient distribution of goods to points of sale.
- Communications Skills: Articulate clearly both verbally and in writing of both English and Cantonese. Present ideas effectively in formal presentation settings as well as informal discussions.
- Interpersonal Skills: Develop and maintain strong relationships by building trust and rapport with stakeholders through consistent, transparent communication and reliable follow-through on commitments.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP/POS systems including maintaining accurate master data within these platforms.
- Adaptability & Stress Management: Ability to work independently under pressure while maintaining flexibility to adapt quickly as priorities shift due to market changes or unforeseen circumstances.
- Experience: Proven experience in both demand planning and supply planning functions within a supply chain.
