Dior pays tribute to the ongoing reinvention of the iconic Lady Dior bag in a retrospective book on the Dior Lady Art project, which fetes its tenth anniversary this year with ten artists.

Created in 1995 in honor of Lady Diana, Princess of Wales, the legendary bag embodies the timeless elegance of the Dior universe.

The House set out to magnify this eternal emblem in 2016 by inviting artists to envision a metamorphosis, continually reinventing it in an artwork where heritage fuses with inventiveness. Like a beckoning canvas, Lady Dior saw 99 prominent figures from the art world make it their own, transposing their personal inspirations onto its pure lines. The Dior Lady Art project embodies the creative momentum of Monsieur Dior: before becoming a couturier, he was a noted gallery owner and collector who exhibited leading avant-garde artists of his time. A passionate visionary, he always believed that imagination should flow freely and conceived fashion as a domain where all types of creative expression could merge.

Dior Lady Art transforms the Lady Dior bag into a multidimensional piece, supported by the excellence of the Dior ateliers. This unprecedented anthology features more than 270 original pieces in superbly staged photographs, proposing a new approach to accessories as symbols of beauty and wonder in everyday life.
