To mark the 80th anniversary of French charity Secours Populaire Français, LVMH reaffirms its commitment to social solidarity, supporting a program called “Journée des oubliés des vacances” for children who haven’t had a chance to go on a summer vacation. This special event brought together 40,000 children from across France and its overseas dependencies for a day of festivities in Paris in a spirit of carefree fun, dreams and sharing.

The Secours Populaire has each year since 1979 organized a "Journée des oubliés des vacances" (“A day for the children summer vacation forgot”) – a day of cultural and sports activities – targeting children living in vulnerable situations who do not have the opportunity to go on vacation. This year a special edition coincides with the 80th anniversary of the charity, giving a huge number of children who are left out during the summer a chance to have fun meeting and playing with other kids during stimulating and enriching activities, sending them home with great memories.

On Wednesday, August 20, tens of thousands of children and accompanying volunteers are taking part in an unforgettable adventure. The morning agenda is dedicated to visits to public and private cultural institutions in Paris. Children and volunteers will then come together at the Champ de Mars park for an array of cultural, sports and artistic activities, welcomed by numerous personalities. The day culminates with a giant karaoke session and a special concert.

As part of the event, several iconic LVMH Maisons and sites will welcome the children:

  • The Jardin d’Acclimatation amusement park is welcoming 800 children.
  • The Fondation Louis Vuitton is inviting 300 children to discover the David Hockney 2025 exhibition.

In conjunction with the event, LVMH will the following day welcome children invited by Secours Populaire overseas branches who are visiting Paris for several days:

  • La Galerie Dior will give children a guided tour of its exhibition.
  • La Grande Épicerie de Paris is organizing a series of food workshops.

Several LVMH employees are volunteering to accompany visiting children during the day.

This partnership is part of LVMH’s longstanding and ongoing commitment to Secours Populaire Français, reflecting the Group’s desire to actively support initiatives with significant social impact at a local level.

This year’s special event follows a series of noteworthy activations in recent years within the scope of this partnership:

  • During the Olympic and Paralympic Game Paris 2024, LVMH enabled over 1,300 children and adolescents from Secours Populaire programs to join local sports clubs. The Group also enabled nearly 400 children to attend the Olympic Flame Relay and para swimming training sessions. In addition, LVMH donated over 1,000 tickets to Olympic and Paralympic events.
  • In 2019 and 2020, the LVMH Group and Secours Populaire teamed up for a program called  “Une Journée pour Soi” (“A Day All Your Own”). This initiative enabled women living in vulnerable situations to enjoy a day of pampering, far from their daily worries. They took part in cultural activities (including tours of LVMH Maisons, castles and museums), meditation workshops and then makeup sessions with makeup artists from Sephora and Make Up For Ever. Each day concluded with a photo shoot by professional photographers, enabling the women to leave with a precious souvenir. Nearly 1,000 women took part in the events over two years.
  • In 2020, during the fight against the pandemic, the LVMH Group donated 100,000 bottles of hand sanitizer produced by Christian Dior Parfums, Guerlain and LVMH Fragrance Brands. During the prevention and solidarity campaign “Gestes de barrière, gestes de solidarité”,  Secours Populaire volunteers provided the sanitizer in exchange for donations, letting people choose the amount they gave. The operation enabled Secours Populaire to fund “Journées Bonheur”, a series of fun summer outings for families and individuals living in vulnerable situations.
