On Tuesday, December 2, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche hosted a new edition of the Dîner des Maisons engagées with Maud Alvarez-Pereyre, Group Human Resources Director, LVMH, and Antoine Arnault, Image & Environment, LVMH.

The Maisons and their guests gathered to raise funds in support of the sickle cell disease reference center at Robert-Debré Hospital and two non-profit organizations, “Un Rien C’est Tout” and “Marcher ses Rêves”, the latter supported by Jérôme Commandeur, the evening’s special guest. The Group’s commitments to Diversity & Inclusion were highlighted through the presentation of the LVMH Inclusion Awards.

“The Dîner des Maisons engagées illustrates how our convictions are transformed into tangible actions, whether through supporting the Robert-Debré Hospital or working alongside our partner associations. It was also the perfect occasion to spotlight the initiatives of the LVMH Inclusion Awards, and reaffirm a fundamental idea: it is the women and men of the Group who give meaning to our commitments. By creating the conditions for each and every person to truly find their place, we foster our collective momentum and move forward together,” says Maud Alvarez-Pereyre, Group Human Resources Director, LVMH.

“The Dîner des Maisons engagées reflects the Group’s ambition to have a positive impact on the causes we believe in, whether societal, environmental or cultural. With humility, but with consistency, we place our resources and expertise at the service of initiatives that tangibly improve the daily lives of many people. This evening once again, by renewing our support for the Robert-Debré Hospital, we are reaffirming the continuity of an engagement that is deeply meaningful to us,” underscores Antoine Arnault, Image & Environment, LVMH.

Support for the Robert-Debré Hospital and the fight against sickle cell disease

Very widespread yet still largely unknown, sickle cell disease is one of the world’s leading genetic disorders. It affects 7 million people and around 300,000 newborns each year. Since 2011, LVMH has supported the team at the sickle cell disease reference center at Robert-Debré Hospital, one of Europe’s largest pediatric reference centers, helping to strengthen care for young patients and their families.

Each year, the Dîner des Maisons engagées raises funds in support of the hospital. The amounts collected during this latest edition will contribute to the extension and renovation project for the reference center, with the objective of offering more suitable and welcoming care spaces for the children treated there and their parents. Since the beginning of the partnership, several million euros have already been raised to support research and improve patient care conditions.

“Support for the sickle cell reference center at Robert-Debré Hospital is a commitment to which the Group and its Maisons remain deeply attached. Through its longevity, it reflects the way we want to stand alongside our partners: over the long term and with consistency. Through its format and the proximity it creates with medical teams, it underlines our determination to be as close as possible to the needs of those we support, in order to strengthen our positive and lasting social impact. In this way, LVMH and its Maisons have partnered with 900 non-profit organizations worldwide, and more than 1.9 million people have benefited from a solidarity initiative,” explains Olivier Théophile, SVP Social Engagement, LVMH.

Commitment to partner associations

Beyond this partnership with the Robert-Debré Hospital, the Dîner des Maisons engagées is also part of a broader approach to providing concrete support to two partner associations.

The first, Marcher ses Rêves, supported by special guest Jérôme Commandeur, helps bring to life individual or collective projects related to art and culture. The project highlighted during the evening is that of Fabien Brucy, a young screenwriter-director with a disability, who aims to acquire an adapted vehicle in order to gain independence and facilitate the development of his professional projects.

The second, Un Rien C’est Tout, makes it possible to transform each “solidarity round-up” at payment into a donation to support non-profit projects. The organization supports initiatives promoting the right to dignity, access to education, child protection and environmental preservation, in partnership with a network of committed organizations across France, including the association Rêves, which was specially highlighted during the evening.

More broadly, this mobilization is part of the action carried out throughout the year by the Group’s Maisons and employees. 93% of employees have the opportunity to take part in a solidarity initiative through their Maison, and nearly 65,000 of them have engaged alongside non-profit organizations and entities serving the public interest, in France and internationally.

Excellence in craftsmanship in the spotlight

The evening also shone a light on excellence in craftsmanship. Two winners of the ELLE Artisanes Award, recognized in the Design & Tableware category, contributed to the scenography: Laura Cambon created numbered glass pieces designed specially for the event, and Aline Houdé-Diebolt designed the table decorations, echoing the universe of LVMH Maisons and the philanthropic purpose of the dinner.
