ENHANCING OUR POSITIVE SOCIAL IMPACT
Due to the unique way in which it manages its value chains, manufacturing facilities and distribution network, LVMH operates through its Maisons in many regions, towns and villages across the globe. As such, LVMH injects considerable vitality into local economies and communities. This influence is further extended through the Group’s longstanding contribution to major social challenges, beyond its sphere of influence.
AMPLIFYING OUR POSITIVE LOCAL IMPACT
LVMH plays an active role in developing the regions in which its Maisons are based, helping to drive the local economy, contributing to public funds and creating jobs, in particular in rural communities with its production workshops and winegrowing activities. In France and around the world, LVMH supports a wide range of suppliers based in all different regions. The Group also pledges to support entrepreneurship and innovation through the LVMH Maison des Startups, which encourages collaborations with startups operating in luxury to build the future of the industry. Certain Maisons specifically support female entrepreneurs through a variety of initiatives, including training and events.
ENHANCING PROFESSIONAL INTEGRATION AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES
LVMH takes action to improve professional integration among people from disadvantaged communities, in particular through partnerships with nonprofits and initiatives such as LIVE – L’Institut des Vocations pour l’Emploi (which now boasts 6 campuses in 2024), and organizes professional coaching sessions as specific programs. LVMH also promotes equal opportunities by supporting initiatives such as the Priority Education Conventions set up by Sciences-Po Paris, and by developing local partnerships that help young people from disadvantaged communities find work, in particular through a longstanding partnership with the French towns of Montfermeil and Clichy-sous-Bois that offers work experience internships (200 work experience placements were made available in 2024), and organizes cultural events, including the “Cultures and Creation” fashion show with the Casa93 nonprofit, which provides training in environmentally responsible design to young people living in Montfermeil.
SUPPORTING THE MOST VULNERABLE
In 2024, over 1.9 million people benefited from support through LVMH philanthropy initiatives. LVMH and its Maisons have undertaken a long-term commitment to supporting the most vulnerable communities by providing financial support to a range of organizations including UNICEF and Save The Children. LVMH provides ongoing support to major healthcare organizations, including the Fondation des Hôpitaux and the Institut Curie for childhood cancer research. For the past eleven years, the Group has been working with the hematology department and the sickle cell anemia unit at the Robert-Debré hospital in Paris to support research and improve the care provided to children living with this disease, organizing a Dîner des Maisons Engagées in order to raise awareness about the disease and present the progress made.
