LVMH reaffirms its commitment to supporting employees who may experience domestic violence. Earlier in the month, on November 6, the Group joined the Safe Spaces program to reinforce its support for employees facing such situations.
This new initiative is part of a broader approach ranging from violence prevention to victim support, built on expert partnerships and on programs accessible worldwide (Safe Place, #StOpE and the LVMH Heart Fund).
By becoming a signatory of the Safe Spaces program, led by AXA, LVMH joins a collective of companies committed to preventing domestic and sexual violence and to better supporting victims. This commitment is based on three pillars:
- Recognize the signs of violence;
- Respond with empathy;
- Refer individuals to appropriate support services.
Safe Spaces complements a broader framework ranging from violence prevention to victim support, relying on expert partners and on programs already deployed globally (Safe Place, #StOpE and the LVMH Heart Fund).
“Supporting our employees, when they face critical personal situations, is a long-standing commitment at LVMH. Our people are the driving force behind our success. And, with over 215,000 employees, we are diverse by essence and inclusive by choice. For us, inclusion means ensuring everyone feels welcome, safe, heard, and supported. We are committed to breaking taboos and supporting victims, fostering a culture where everyone can thrive,” affirms Maud Alvarez-Pereyre, Human Resources Director, LVMH.
The #StOpE initiative aims to combat everyday sexism in the workplace through training available in seven languages, offering concrete scenarios to identify and counter sexist behaviours.
For more than two years, the Group has also promoted the Safe Place label, which supports Maisons in creating protective and respectful professional environments. Two Maisons — CELINE and Parfums Christian Dior — have already obtained the label. Their commitment is reflected in the creation of dedicated teams providing listening and guidance, anonymous self-assessment tools and secure mechanisms for reporting incidents occurring during working hours.
The Group also recognizes that such violence can affect all genders. All prevention, listening and support mechanisms, including the LVMH Heart Fund, are accessible to everyone.
Launched in 2021, the LVMH Heart Fund provides personalised support to employees facing major personal crises. Available 24/7, it combines confidential listening, psychological assistance and financial support when required. More than 10,000 employees worldwide have already benefited from it.
“The LVMH Heart Fund supports every employee facing a personal crisis by offering confidential, human and tailored assistance. Its articulation with Safe Spaces further strengthens our ability to act with agility and humanity when situations of violence or vulnerability arise. Our priority is clear: ensuring that each individual can access quick and reliable help, wherever they are in the world, when confronted with a life-altering event,” says Flavie Guittet-Fau, Social Affairs Director, LVMH.
With these initiatives, LVMH pursues a single ambition: standing by its employees even in the most sensitive situations and strengthening its societal footprint.
