THE BEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING AT DIOR
In the intimacy of Dior’s salons on Avenue Montaigne, Bill Gaytten presented evanescent creations floating in clouds of tulle, chiffon and organza. The delicacy of this season’s Dior Haute Couture springs from a spirit of balance, elegance and distinction. Its fragile charm is an ode to the codes and legacy of the House.
The party and evening dresses had a decidedly fifties feel, with peplum-cinched waists and full, often pleated skirts. The fabrics and details turn every step into a shimmering play on light, from sequins beckoning beneath black tulle to white vinyl polka dots embroidering the skirts.
