A watchmaking revolution, the Grand Carrera Pendulum Concept Watch has the first ever mechanical movement without a spiral, the TAG Heuer Pendulum Concept. Vibrating at a rate of 43200 beats per hour, it embodies the Company’s expertise in high-frequency technologies and quest for the ultimate in precision.
The fruit of 5 years of research and development, the movement surmounts the traditional limits of the spiral-spring mechanism, affected by gravity and thermal expansion, replacing it with a virtual spring made of magnets. An aperture in the dial at 9 am reveals the core of this avant-garde movement.
While the movement in this concept watch is unprecedented, the design is an homage to the Grand Carrera with curved, faceted horns and a steel case with a black titanium carbide coating.
