The 2010 British Fashion Awards honored Phoebe Philo, Creative Director of Céline, with the prestigious title of "British Designer of the Year”. The awards recognize influential designers and talents who have made a significant impact in the world of fashion. This year’s ceremony took place at the Savoy Hotel in London on December 7.

A graduate of the celebrated Central Saint Martin’s School, Phoebe Philo began her career at Chloé as Stella McCartney’s design assistant, replacing her as creative director in 2001. As Creative Director of Céline since 2008, she has introduced a sophisticated, feminine spirit for functional clothes with clean, sophisticated silhouettes.
