Loewe, Kenzo and Louis Vuitton brought Paris fashion week to a spectacular close, their creations brimming with elegance and refinement. Shapely curves are accentuated by a never-ending game of hide-and-seek. The clothes propose subtle tailoring and eye-popping originality. The collections set a rhythm of perpetual movement and enticing energy.
At Loewe, models coiffed in impeccable chignons, their lips outlined in bright vermillion, invited us into a romantic floral garden. Louis Vuitton’s models streamed down escalators to a yellow and white checked podium. For the Kenzo show, screens displayed urban jungle motifs as a backdrop to the models.
Next summer is set to be exotic, roomy and light. The color palette is lively, raw, dazzling or mineral, playing on variations of khaki, ocher, beige and brown. The prints are boldly graphic, from outsize and miniature squares to floral and tropical motifs. The cuts are fluid, ample, supple or ultra-straight.
Loewe’s pencil skirt is high-waisted and slit high, a regal look in nappa or suede leather. Kenzo invites us on a safari with the flashy tones of fauna and flora, updating looks for a desert adventure. Inspired by the striking work of artist Daniel Buren, Marc Jacobs designed a collection in checks, drawing on Louis Vuitton’s iconic Damier motif.
