Nicholas Kirkwood launched his eponymous collection in Spring 2005 challenging the conventions of women’s luxury footwear. To date, he has gained much critical acclaim for his spirited collections, which feature a blend of genres subverting the relationship between tradition and modernity.
Kirkwood’s creations focus on the interpretation and reimagination of curvilinear forms. An alumnus of prestigious design schools Central Saint Martins and Cordwainers College, Kirkwood has been recognised for his vision with numerous awards including the BFC Vogue Designer Fashion Fund in 2013, and Accessories Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2010, 2012 and 2013.
Kirkwood launched his first stand-alone men’s collection for AW13, presenting at London Collections: Men in January 2012. Beyond his own label, he has worked alongside established and emerging Ready-to-Wear designers to create show shoes for their runway. In September 2013, Nicholas Kirkwood announced his partnership with fashion conglomerate LVMH Group. With a shared value in design and innovation, Kirkwood continues the international expansion of his brand and development of his creative vision.
