Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintenance and repairs on all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Life Safety Equipment. S/he will utilize the Building Management System to monitor building temperatures and monitor equipment as well as utilize different types of power tools and testing equipment. The Maintenace Mechanic will review design and construction drawings and oversee installation of all MEP projects.  S/he will establish and follow safe operating procedures that protect maintenance workers while conducting maintenance procedures, as well as working with their internal customers to ensure that facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained to support the safety of the operations.  S/he will maintain a safe attitude at work and behave in safe manner to prevent accidents and injuries and strictly adhere to all safe operating procedures as described by his/her supervisor and through safety training programs. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 10:00AM-7:30PM

  • Facilities Management Operations
  • WORK REQUESTS Troubleshoot problems and repairs on all electrical, mechanical HVAC, Plumbing, and general office fixtures. Respond to CRES work order requests in a timely and efficient manner. Perform equipment repairs, and project assignments to meet internal users' needs and requests. Respond to hot/cold and other engineering requests from users and implementation of corrective action.  Assure code requirements and internal polices of all outside contractors are met.  Interact with building maintenance staff as required in person and through use of the BUILDING ENGINES work ticket system. Change bulbs as required.
  • VENDOR INTERACTIONS - Interact with vendors as required to ensure all scopes of work and schedule of duties are being performed satisfactorily. Oversee and document all trash weighing operations.
  • PREVENTITIVE MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTIONS – Keep accurate records of DAILY BUILDING CHECKLIST walkthroughs and CLIMATE CONTROL DATA SHEETS. Keep daily. Understand sequence of operations on all equipment. Be a point of contact for all vendor preventative maintenance agreements and ensure all scopes are adhered to in a complete and timely manner. Perform minor repairs and adjustments as required. Test and inspect all emergency and life safety systems to meet FM, NFPA, OSHA, and all agency standards and guidelines.  Assist in UPS tests and documentation.
  • ORDERING AND INVENTORY Maintain daily/weekly checklist of all areas needing inspection on a regular basis. Order, stock and organize all facility related parts and equipment required for operations including bulbs and ballasts.
  •  Position must be on-site Saturday to support any employee activity requiring assistance via the help desk. Also to perform preventative maintenance and coordinate any vendor activity that may be required.

  •  WORKSHOP DUTIES – Maintain a functioning facility workshop in the cellar level. Work with a wide variety.
  • of tools and testing equipment to maintain facility in high quality working order.
  •  PLAN REVIEW - Review design drawings for construction on new projects and support new projects as required. 
  • SAFETY – Follow safe operating procedures that protect maintenance workers while conducting maintenance procedures. Ensure that facility equipment and supplies are maintained in a safe manner. Maintain a safe work attitude and behave in a safe work manner in order to prevent accidents at work. Strictly adhere to all safe operating procedures described by your supervisor and through safety training programs.

Required Qualifications: 

  •  High school graduate with technical/vocational training in HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical and Material Handling Equipment.
  • Three years' experience in the related field.
  •  Computer experience necessary (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  •  Must have training and certificate for recovering refrigerant.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate (both written and orally) with employees of all levels.
  • Must be self-motivated and customer service orientated.
  •  Must be flexible with regards to work schedule. 
  •  Overtime and weekend hours required to support the business, equipment repairs and projects.
  • Individual is required to respond to building emergencies 24/7 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  •    Working knowledge of Archi bus
  •    Training or certificate in LEED.

The hiring range for this position ranges from $32.39-$43.81. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon
candidates’ relevant skills and experience.
