Position

We are looking for a talented and passionate Junior Business Controller to join our local finance department based in Vienna, Austria, for a VIE starting from July 1st, 2024 (can be discussed). The main assignment is to support the Business Controller by providing on time, correct and insightful business information that ensures financial targets are met and business Risks & Opportunities identified.

The position is meant to be a business partner, meaning working on the full P&L up to the Market Operating Profit. The main area of work is the commercial part (pricing), but some notions of accounting can be requested for the other topics. Working with Sales & Marketing as business partner implies curiosity about the business that goes beyond financial perspective: a first experience in Sales can be valued. 

The responsibilities below are the basis, depending on how proactive & autonomous you are, much can be added.

 

WHAT RESPONSIBILITIES WILL YOU HAVE?

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Analyze monthly the volume sales, the price impact, and the margin performance.
  • Develop more advanced and automated tools to improve the understanding of profitability per product, customer, sales channel etc. in order to challenge investments.
  • Report the monthly forecast figures to Shareholders, support the volume forecasting process by the Sales teams and Demand Planner (Supply Chain).
  • Show precision and care in reported figures since they serve as basis for decision by management.
  • Support the business by following on Marketing spendings (Free Bottles & Warehouse stocks, Budget compliance…), provide training & explanations when needed.
  • Assist on the ROI analysis process in cooperation with the Sales & Marketing.
  • Challenge the Sales & Marketing team on their CSR targets (Reduction of POSM, Value-Adding Packages ROI…)
  • Understand the Internal Control Action Plans to support their implementation across the organization (Free Bottles, Contract performance payout…)

Profile

Education:

  • (Ongoing) Master’s degree, preferably with specialization in Corporate Finance, Controlling or Accounting
  • Classe Préparatoire would be a plus.

Professional experience & technical skills:

  • Experience in a reporting, controlling or business analysis is valued.
  • Interest & affinity for numbers required
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • MS Office (Word, PowerPoint), PowerBI is appreciated
  • SAP, Essbase, Qliksense, Cognos are a plus (but can be learned on the job if ease with tools)
  • Accounting skills are a plus

Languages:

  • English is a must.
  • French & German is a strong plus.
