Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche will showcase its love of bookstores, libraries and all things related to the written word during an exhibition “Mise en Page” that runs from February 24 to April 21, 2024. The event proposes a deep dive into the bottomless sources of inspiration found in books.

Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche has always been great at storytelling, and curating is second nature for bibliophile Sarah Andelman, co-founder and image director of the iconic concept store Colette from 1997 to 2017 and publisher of Just An Idea Books, an imprint that celebrates atypical artists. At Le Bon Marché, her collaborative spirit will unfold in exhibitions and exclusive products that pay homage to reading, writing and promoting the written word.

Each space features an enthralling chapter. The ground floor welcomes famous bookstores from around the world, including New York’s The Strand and Pillow-Cat Books, Tokyo’s Cow Books and Book/Shop of Oakland, California, all spotlighting their branded merch. There will also be exceptional collaborations with publishers and book-loving houses. On the second floor, Sarah Andelman presents “Just an Idea Books and Friends”, featuring five new books in addition to the 17 she has published in her collection since 2021. Illustrator Jean Jullien takes charge of staging for the exhibition, bringing his work to life in the store windows and the interior with creations that are grandiose, thought-provoking and fun.
