Hennessy presents “Cultivating our Forests, Cultivating our Future” exhibition promoting reforestation at the Jardin d’Acclimatation in Paris

The exhibition “Cultivating our Forests, Cultivating our Future”, which runs until July 9 at the Jardin d’Acclimatation in Paris, spotlights the importance of trees for the global ecosystem and helps raise awareness among visitors of the need to protect forests. The exhibition is part of Hennessy’s “Forest Destination” program, which aims to regenerate 50,000 hectares of forests worldwide by 2030. Open to everyone, the exhibition is illustrated with photos by well-known photographers from the different countries represented.

“Maison Hennessy is proud to have a chance to host this exhibition at the Jardin d’Acclimatation in order to spotlight the work and vision of talented local contributors who engage with an essential global issue that is too often overlooked. This exhibition, which is open to everyone, is designed to heighten awareness among families of the most important challenge in our history, namely preserving forests and biodiversity. We are firmly committed to providing future generations with concrete solutions that will help them meet this challenge.— Laurent Boillot, CEO of Maison Hennessy

Four simple yet essential actions structure this major forest regeneration program:

  • Prepare

The success of any reforestation project begins with finding an approach adapted to each distinctive landscape and climate.

  • Plant

Hennessy aims to regenerate 50,000 hectares of forests in France and the rest of the world by 2030 thanks to its Forest Destination program.

  • Cultivate

After they are planted, trees must be cared for over several months to ensure that their potential is realized, to protect them and to ensure healthy growth.

  • Transmit

Within the framework of the Forest Destination program, local populations are trained to care for the trees planted and awareness programs are initiated to share and pass on a robust culture of forest preservation.

LVMH supports the Montfermeil Cultures & Creation fashion show for the thirteenth year in a row

Committed to equal opportunity in Seine-Saint-Denis, the LVMH Group has sponsored the Montfermeil Cultures & Creation fashion show since 2010.

This show, attended by over 300 designers and models – all non-professionals – and 1,000 spectators, celebrates local community’s creativity and diversity, and gives young talents a chance to engage with the world of fashion and see their work discovered.

On this occasion, a jury composed of Gabrielle Saint-Genis Rodriguez, President of Guerlain, Isabelle Faggianelli, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Christian Dior Couture, Maurizio Liotti, Industrial Director, Ready-to-Wear at Christian Dior Couture and Olivier Théophile, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at LVMH, awarded the “CSR Young Talent” prize to Marion Jamont, and the “Jeune Espoir” prize to Victor Nouaille.

Ahead of the fashion show, several LVMH Maisons gave support for this annual event: young designers benefited from the advice of artisans during “Couture Masterclasses” organized by Kenzo, and fabric donations were made by Berluti, Christian Dior Couture, Kenzo and Nona Source. Miss France 2014 Flora Coquerel, model Mandjalia Gbane and former French athletics coach Jean-Claude Perrin, gathered for the occasion by LVMH, taught young models how to walk the runway, take over the space and gain self-confidence during dedicated Masterclasses. Lastly, for their runway début, these one-night models were made up by Guerlain makeup artists.

The LVMH Group will help the winners in starting their career paths and give them the opportunity to be mentored by a fashion professional. They will also take part in several professional events.

Maison Guerlain has awarded a “Beauty” prize to Justine Malet, a young student passioned by the world of make-up. She will have the opportunity to spend a day shadowing a professional makeup artist from Guerlain.

In addition to its support for the Cultures and Creation fashion show, and as part of its commitment to inclusion, the Group is involved in several initiatives aiming to facilitate the professional integration of young people. For example, 150 “LVMH discovery week” are offered to middle-school students each year, as well as support for original educational programs. One example is the “Moshi Moshi Clichy” program of Louise Michel middle-school in Clichy-sous-Bois, which enabled 16 students to fly to Japan for 1 week with the support of the LVMH Group.

On the occasion of Pride Month, LVMH supports the new documentary series “Adieu ma honte” to promote LGBTI+ inclusion

June is the month to celebrate the progress made throughout the year in the inclusion of LGBTI+ people. Echoing its internal actions, LVMH has chosen to commit against homophobia beyond its working environment, including the support for “Adieu ma honte” (“Goodbye Shame”), a documentary series adapted from the book of the same name by former international footballer Ouissem Belgacem, who recounts his combat to gain acceptance of his homosexuality in the world of sports.

Adapted from the autobiographical novel published in 2021, “Adieu ma honte” shines a light on how hard it was to make his voice heard in the face of social, religious and cultural pressures in a milieu sometimes marked by homophobia.

Over the course of nearly two hours, punctuated by powerful testimonies from family and friends, viewers follow Ouissem Belgacem’s childhood in La Cité Besson, a low-income neighborhood in Aix-en-Provence, his adolescence at the Toulouse Football Club training center, and his decision to give up a promising career to live his homosexuality in complete freedom. Since then, he has worked to raise awareness among young athletes, especially in the world of football, challenging attitudes towards homosexuality during talks at training centers.

Ambassador of the first LVMH Métiers d’Excellence class, including beneficiaries of Le Refuge (an association that promotes the reintegration, training and employment of young LGBTI+ people by helping them choose their career path), Ouissem Belgacem presented the series to LVMH staff last May 30 during “PRIDE – Walk the Talk”. This event highlighted the concrete actions taken by the Group and its Houses, and also launched, for the first time in the history of LVMH, its participation in Pride Walks in several cities around the world.

The four episodes of “Adieu ma honte”, directed by Renaud Bertrand and produced by Alef One for Canal+ Docs, are available on MyCanal.

Ruinart presents Blanc Singulier, a unique cuvée revealed by climate variations

Ruinart has engaged with the challenges of an evolving climate while maintaining the excellence of the Maison’s champagnes. With a resolutely contemporary and future-facing vision, Ruinart has transitioned from traditional savoir-faire to Savoir Re-Faire, (re)crafting new aromatic profiles of chardonnay and adapting winemaking practices for its new Blanc Singulier cuvée.

Ruinart recognizes the major changes that are impacting its vineyards, notably higher average temperatures and increasingly early harvests. Cellar Master Frédéric Panaïotis and his teams have identified the emergence of new aromatic profiles linked to this new climate paradigm. These differences have in particular led to new balances between the aromatic profiles – fruity, floral, vegetal, spice – coupled with an intense expression and particularly powerful texture. Now Ruinart is revealing these new characteristics, adapting its savoir-faire while retaining the Maison’s distinctive signature, culminating in the creation of a cuvée named Blanc Singulier.

Like the iconic Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, the new Blanc Singulier is a 100% chardonnay cuvée. The atypical climate profile of the year will thus shape a distinctive aromatic expression. For example, wines from 2018,– an especially warm year with an early harvest in August – have notes of juicy white fruit and candied citrus, along with honeyed floral scents and smoky spice notes. The wines, sourced from some 20 different crus, were harvested in 2018, the “reference” year that lends its name to the name of the cuvée. ‘Blanc Singulier, Edition 2018’ is thus the first edition in a series.

Edition 2018 is an assemblage of that comprises 80% base wines from the year’s harvest and 20% reserve wines from a ‘perpetual’ reserve that was begun in 2017. This reserve contains the different assemblages of Blanc Singulier that will subsequently contribute to the assemblages of future editions of the cuvée. Half of the wines are aged in oak, the other half in stainless steel. Ruinart has also decided to extend the ageing of Blanc Singulier in the cellars to three years and to adjust the dosage (added liqueur). Edition 2018 is a Brut Nature champagne, with no dosage.

Ruinart Blanc Singulier is a collection of singular Editions that will succeed one another at the rhythm of years marked by an atypical climate. Ruinart shares its taste for centuries-old savoir-faire and a passion for sustainable viticulture with a community of chefs committed to sustainable gastronomy, including Cybèle Idelot (Ruche – Domaine de Bruyères), Claire Vallée (ONA), Grégory Garimbay (Auberge Nicolas Flamel), Arnaud Donckele (Cheval Blanc Paris, La Vague d’Or, Cheval Blanc Saint-Tropez), Julien Diaz (Saisons), Marie-Victorine Manoa (Aux Lyonnais), Gil Nogueira and Sayaka Sawaguchi (formerly at Garde Champêtre), along with Juliette Busetto, Samuel Victori and Pierre-Jean Arpurt (Les Agitateurs).

With the “Walk the Talk” event, LVMH launches Pride Month

With the “PRIDE – Walk the Talk” event on Tuesday 30 May at LVMH headquarters, closing with a showcase by Juliette Armanet, singer-songwriter, the Group celebrates its commitment to fighting LGBTI+ discrimination and showcases the concrete actions taken in the field by its Maisons and its international network of “All LVMH Pride” employees. It also launches, for the first time in the Group’s history, its participation in Pride Walks in several cities around the world: Paris, London, New-York, Wilton Manors, Los Angeles and Tokyo. This strong commitment is one of the pillars of LVMH’s global Diversity and Inclusion strategy.

During Pride Month in June every year, LVMH raises employee awareness about LGBTI+ inclusion, encouraging them to rally round its strong commitments in this area, and showcasing the community of Group employees dedicated to promoting inclusion across the world.

During the “PRIDE – Walk the Talk” event on May 30th, 2023, LVMH shines a spotlight on the daily efforts of its teams to foster diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Organized by the Group Human Resources Department, Chantal Gaemperle, EVP, Human Resources & Synergies, and Vanessa Moungar, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, are joined by several high-profile personalities from both within and outside of LVMH, who share their insights and experience on this topic:

Partnership between Le Refuge Foundation and LVMH

Following on from its first successful collaboration with the association, the Group was proud to announce, on the occasion of the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia on 17 May, that it would be stepping up its actions with Le Refuge from September 2023, to promote the reintegration, training and employment of young LGBTI+ people by supporting them in their choice of career direction through a partnership with Métiers d’Excellence LVMH.

“Adieu ma Honte” with Ouissem Belgacem – former professional footballer

The Group is supporting the adaptation of the autobiographical novel “Adieu ma honte” by Ouissem Belgacem, ambassador of the first Métiers d’Excellence class to include beneficiaries of Le Refuge, into a four-part documentary for Canal+ Docs, to be aired for the first time from 7 June. The event is an opportunity for the former professional footballer to present the series, which tells the story of his struggle to come to terms with his homosexuality in the world of sport.

Panel: “Inclusion in the workplace: what works?”

In this panel moderated by Loïc Dumoulin-Richet from Têtu, adviser to the Group on LGBTI+-related themes, LVMH brings together a number of experts in the field to discuss inclusion in the workplace, with the aim of providing practical techniques and tools to help LGBTI+ people and their allies continue to progress on the issue of inclusion. This panel welcomed Christophe Margaine,  (L’Autre Cercle, an association partnered by LVMH), , Tiphaine Galliez (Great Place to Work), Sandra Rimbot and Paula Fallowfield, Human Resources Directors at Sephora and Moët Hennessy respectively, two Maisons with a particular commitment to the cause.

Employees’ Pride networks within the Group

For several years, LVMH has been fostering the development of employee networks in the different regions across the world to allow each person to contribute, at their own level, to an ever more inclusive culture. These “All LVMH Pride” networks, already active in several countries – France, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Japan – are continuing to grow, bringing together an increasing number of employees keen to make a personal commitment on this theme. The Maisons Sephora, Moët Hennessy and Celine have also set up their own networks and carry out tangible actions with the support of the Group. Employees representing those networks took the stage to share their personal experience and their ambitions for the development of these networks.

LVMH’s engagement goes well beyond its participation in Pride Month. The Group is committed to offering an inclusive experience, where everyone that is part of its ecosystem – people, partners and clients – feel welcomed, respected and represented.

At LVMH, we are diverse par nature, inclusive by choice. And it’s everyone’s business.

Focus on the agenda of the Pride Walks at which LVMH will be represented, a first for the Group:

  • Tokyo, Japan : 23 avril 2023
  • Los Angeles, USA: June 11th, 2023
  • Wilton Manors, USA: June 17th, 2023

On the occasion of the ChangeNOW summit, LVMH announces a partnership on biodiversity with the Vallée de la Millière association and aims to train all its employees in environmental challenges by 2026.

LVMH is once again actively participating in the international ChangeNOW summit on solutions for the planet, which will be held from May 25th to 27th at the Grand Palais Ephémère in Paris. This event will be an opportunity for the Group to unveil a new biodiversity partnership with the Vallée de la Millière association established by the world-renowned photographer, filmmaker and environmentalist Yann Arthus-Bertrand. Participating in various panels, LVMH will highlight several of its environmental policy commitments, including new ones in the area of employee training. The Group will also be represented by its wines and spirits division, Moët Hennessy, a true pioneer in environmental matters, which Houses will focus on the Living Soils program, targeting soil conservation.

As part of the ChangeNOW Summit, Hélène Valade, Environmental Development Director of LVMH Group, and Pierre Louette, Chairman and CEO of Les Echos Le Parisien Group, will be speaking at a session on “Corporate Transformation” on Friday, May 26th from 12:00 to 1:15 pm. Both will discuss how companies can promote change from within by encouraging the development of sustainable development initiatives.

This joint discussion will be an opportunity to unveil a new partnership between the LVMH Group and the Vallée de la Millière association, a biodiversity haven created in 2020 by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, President of the GoodPlanet Foundation, of which Guerlain is already a sponsor. Located one hour from Paris on the edge of the Rambouillet forest, this 30-hectare site includes a reserve, an educational garden called “Jardin des Partages” built on the principles of agroforestry and permaculture, and several buildings designed to welcome the public.

This site is scheduled to open in 2024. As part of this partnership, the LVMH Group employees and stakeholders will be able to use this facility located in nature throughout the year, for training and awareness-raising activities. The aim is to have trained all Group employees in Environmental Fundamentals by 2026, and to make each of them a player in change. The rest of the time, La Millière will be open to the general public, particularly schoolchildren, and scientists.

Through this partnership, LVMH intends to contribute to educating as many people as possible about the challenges of biodiversity. The Group has committed to help renature the site for the next five years, explore regenerative agriculture and train as many people as possible to ensure they are aware of ecological issues and the challenges around protecting biodiversity.

“We are very happy to support the Vallée de la Millière association. This reserve is an exciting laboratory for regenerative farming techniques and environmentally friendly practices that we are committed to developing in order to enable sustainable luxury. At LVMH, we are convinced that we can shift the lines from within – a conviction we share with Yann Arthus-Bertrand – by making our employees true stakeholders in our environmental policy. This is why we have made it a priority to integrate environmental issues into all the Group’s businesses. To do this, training is key: it gives meaning and enables change. By 2026, we aim to have trained 100% of our employees in environmental fundamentals, an objective that will now be included in our LIFE 360 roadmap.” Hélène Valade, Director of Environmental Development for the LVMH Group.

“The Vallée de la Millière association was created to protect and conserve, at all costs, a 30-hectare estate in the heart of the Yvelines department on the outskirts of the Greater Paris region, a rare wetland area with a wealth of biodiversity. The objective is to be able to re-learn the living world around us.

Without a long-term sponsor, we would not have been able to carry out this unprecedented pilot rewilding project, which could serve as an example and encourage others throughout France. Thanks to LVMH, the Association will be able to welcome schools free of charge from 2024 to educate the youngest about the protection and beauty of wildlife, as well as scientists and NGOs to observe, exchange and analyze the evolution of the site. This support will also allow the Association to acquire all the necessary equipment and to surround itself with a solid team to carry out its objectives of raising awareness and educating the general public as well as the daily management of the biodiversity reserve.” Yann Arthus-Bertrand, photographer, filmmaker, and ecologist.

Alexandre Capelli, Environmental Deputy Director at LVMH, will also lead a session entitled “Fostering Collaboration” scheduled for Thursday, May 25th from 4:15 to 5:30 pm addressing one of the objectives of the Group’s environmental strategy: the circular economy benefiting creativity. He will be speaking alongside Romain Brabo, co-founder of Nona Source, and Alice Audouin, President of Art of Change 21.

In addition, the LVMH group will be represented at the ChangeNOW Summit by its wine and spirits division, Moët Hennessy, a true pioneer in environmental matters. Throughout the event, the division’s companies – Hennessy, Ruinart, Moët & Chandon and Veuve Clicquot – and their partners, will focus on soil conservation. In line with the World Living Soils Forum created in June 2022, the Moët Hennessy companies will present a rich program at their booths: solutions that respect the environment and biodiversity, workshops, etc. Several artistic collaborations will take place during the event, including “Habitats,” an installation by NILS-UDO showing Ruinart’s commitment to biodiversity, and Hennessy’s “Cultivating our Forests, Cultivating our Future” exhibition, which invites viewers to rediscover the precious role of forests for our planet.

Berta de Pablos-Barbier, President CEO of Moët & Chandon, Laurent Boillot, CEO of Hennessy, Jean-Marc Gallot, CEO of Veuve Clicquot, and Sandrine Sommer, Chief Sustainability Officer at Moët Hennessy, will speak on various panels throughout the event.

LVMH helps Emilia Romagna

The LVMH group, on behalf of its Italian Maisons (Acqua di Parma, Berluti, Bulgari, Cova, Fendi, Loro Piana, Pucci, and Thelios) has decided to make a donation to provide significant help for the Emilia Romagna region and its people, who were affected by the recent severe flooding.

Italy is LVMH’s second home after France. We are proud of the thousands of people who work with us in Italy and grateful to the country.

Guerlain calls for action to mark World Bee Day

Beginning on World Bee Day, May 20 and through May 22 – the International Day for Biological Diversity – Guerlain is for the third consecutive year encouraging its global community to take action. By helping raise awareness about the vital importance of protecting bees, Guerlain turns its commitments to future generations into concrete initiatives.

To celebrate this year’s World Bee Day, Guerlain gave carte blanche to French artist Céline Cléron, known for her advocacy in favor of animals. The painter, sculptor and visual artist has reimagined the bottle and packaging of Guerlain’s Abeille Royale Advanced Youth Watery Oil, creating a colorful field of flowers in a buzzing garden, alive with a ballet of the invaluable pollinators. The artist has also done a series of watercolor drawings to illustrate simple things everyone can do to help protect bees around us: plant melliferous flowers that provide quality nectar and pollen, let part of the garden grow wild, and provide bees with water. The drawings are reminders of the vital role bees play in ensuring a balanced ecosystem. Almost 90% of the world’s wild flowering plants depend on pollinators, especially bees, according to the IPBES.

Guerlain’s initiative is also a reminder that unsustainable agricultural practices, excessive use of pesticides, climate change and extreme temperatures, habitat destruction and biodiversity erosion continue to radically impact the health of bees worldwide. Guerlain is at the same time inviting Friends of the House to join its actions from May 20-22. Angelina Jolie, Gina Alice, Karen Wazen, Blanca Suarez, Lena Simonne and Mirei Kiritani will lead Bee School sessions at primary schools across the planet. These awareness-building sessions for young generations help children understand the role of pollinators and the things they can do to help protect them. By 2025 Guerlain aims to award Bee School certificates to some 100,000 children worldwide.

In addition, from May 20 to May 22, 20% of proceeds from sales in stores and on Guerlain.com will be donated to the Guerlain for Bees Conservation Program.

LVMH marks International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia by announcing partnership with Le Refuge Foundation and confirming commitments to fight all forms of discrimination

In conjunction with the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT) on May 17, LVMH has reiterated its formal commitments to promoting an inclusive environment where all of the Group’s employees, partners and customers feel accepted, respected and represented.

LVMH has long been actively committed to non-discrimination and respect for each person’s individuality, supporting LGBTI+ people in particular through front-line initiatives. The Group’s partnership with Le Refuge is thus a natural choice. Le Refuge Foundation combats discrimination against the LGBTI+ community and provides housing and support for young LGBTI+ people who face isolation because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

As part of this partnership, LVMH will expand support for people welcomed by Le Refuge through a range of concrete initiatives in conjunction with the LVMH Métiers d’Excellence program.

“I am very pleased to announce that we are expanding our partnership with Le Refuge Foundation, a key actor in fighting discrimination against young adults in the LGBTI+ community. Our goal is to help these vulnerable young people rediscover their potential thanks to the incredible ecosystem of the LVMH Group’s 280 Métiers d’Excellence, and offer them inspiring career opportunities that enable them to thrive independently,” says Chantal Gaemperle, LVMH Group Executive Vice President Human Resources and Synergies.

“We are delighted and honored by this prestigious collaboration with LVMH. The partnership between the Foundation and the LVMH’s Métier d’Excellence will allow the young people supported by Le Refuge to regain self-confidence after being rejected by their families. Through this shared engagement, LVMH demonstrates a real belief in the importance of fighting LGBTphobia. On behalf of the Foundation I want to thank LVMH for its support for Le Refuge as we celebrate our 20th anniversary,” says Pacôme Rupin, Director of Le Refuge.

LVMH Métiers d’Excellence is dedicated to preserving and passing on unique skills practiced at LVMH Maisons across the globe. For over a year, it has worked with Le Refuge to enable young people from the LGBTI+ community to join the Institut des Métiers d’Excellence LVMH work/study vocational training program. This scheme helps develop the employability of young generations and people seeking reskilling, bringing them an opportunity to join one of the Group’s 280 creative, craft and customer experience professions.

During the second edition of the You and ME tour in 2022, LVMH invited young people from Le Refuge to discover the Group’s different métiers, along with the training opportunities available via the LVMH Institut des Métiers d’Excellence. On this occasion, they met Ouissem Belgacem – a former international football player and author of the autobiographical memoir “Adieu ma honte”, in which he recounts the challenges of assuming his homosexuality in the world of football – who shared his testimony and gave them advice on how to fully express their talent and potential in a professional milieu.

Two of the young people supported by the Foundation were subsequently selected to join the Institut des Métiers d’Excellence and have begun their work/study training at Christian Dior Couture and the Bon Marché.

Building on this successful collaboration with the association, the Group is proud to announce that it will extend its collaboration with Le Refuge from September 2023 to help LGBTI+ youth get back on a path to training and employment. Together, the partners will support them in choosing a vocation through a range of actions:

  • Discovery sessions presenting LVMH Group’s skilled métiers, as well as the training opportunities available via the Institut des Métiers d’Excellence LVMH.

  • Young people interested in these professions and training courses will have access to the online job coaching platform “La Prépa You and ME”, designed to help candidates better prepare their application for a Métier d’Excellence at an LVMH Maison.

  • Meetings with experts from different métiers, as well as human resources specialists from LVMH Maisons during the You and ME 2024 tour.

  • Candidates will also be mentored by LVMH Group staff throughout their recruitment process.

Chaumet celebrates four winners of first ECHO CULTURE AWARDS

At the first edition of the Echo Culture Awards in Paris last April 18, Chaumet celebrated women in diverse realms who are promoting culture. Held at the Philanthro-Lab de Paris, the awards ceremony welcomed members of the jury and friends of the Maison. These awards support women whose front-line engagement is essential to nurturing culture in all its forms.

The first edition of the Echo Culture Awards, hosted by actress Sandrine Kiberlain, saw four women honored for their cultural and artistic projects, selected from among 151 candidates. The first category prize went to the Paris Mozart Orchestra founded by Claire Gibault. The association works to bring music to a broad public through a range of programs, including masterclasses, events at schools, as well as solidarity outreach in prisons, nursing homes and psychiatric hospitals. The prize in the second category was won by La Caravana Obscura, a project led by Lolita Bourdet which introduces people to photography thanks to a mobile trailer that has been transformed into a film development laboratory. A project called Jeunes Prodiges, which encourages young people aged 12 to 16 to pursue their passion for writing – right up to the publication and sale of their books – was the winner of the prize in the third category. The jury, comprising François Alu, Ingrid Brochard, Mercedes Erra, Cédric Fauq, Loïc Yviquel and Chaumet president Jean-Marc Mansvelt, also awarded a Special Encouragement Prize to the Transplantation project led by Amandine Nana. This arts library, exhibition and workshop space is specialized in artistic creations by members of diasporas.

The grants received by the winners —  €50,000 for the first category — will enable the talented project leaders to develop their initiatives and continue to support culture and solidarity.
