Position

Louis Vuitton is seeking a Merchandising Assistant that will support Merchandising Managers for Men's and Women's Shoes for a period of six months in our New York office. Key responsibilities of the Merchandising Assistant will be generating reports, creating store tools & updating the Intranet, staying up-to-date of competitive offerings and key influencers, overseeing special order processes, and managing samples. This role will serve as point of contact for all Shoe special orders, including performance tracking, sharing program & delivery updates with stores. The Merchandising Assistant will also own all tool updates, including price changes, delivery updates, and cancellations using PowerPoint, Excel and other web-based platforms including buy books, launch updates, product books and sizing guides. Additionally, this role will develop competitive analyses of Shoe market with a comprehensive recap on pricing, trends, actions and events across all categories by gender.

The Merchandising Assistant will collaborate with cross-function partners including Paris Marketing & Merchandising teams, Supply Chain, Logistics, Digital, Press and Visual Merchandising teams to support Shoe initiative. This role will also regularly communicate regularly with stores, update company Intranet to ensure accurate information and handle general administrative tasks including scheduling meetings, conference rooms, and shipping samples.


Profile

We are eager to speak to individuals with 1-2 years of merchandising experience (inclusive of internships) with strong product sensibility, knowledge of competitive landscape and passion for the luxury fashion industry. Computer literacy (Excel: v-lookup, if/sumif formulas, pivot tables, etc., PowerPoint) is critical to the role, as well as strong analytical and thinking skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of retail math, be organized, detail oriented and have a "can do" attitude. Additionally, foreign language (French) is a plus!
